Singapore, October 14 & 17th , 2014, IPC Banten through the Terminal Business Division conducted a series of visits to Singapore. One of the agenda was a field study to a Port in Singapore, PSA (Port Authority of Singapore). The operator fellows and companion of IPC Banten Terminal Business Division field study was divided into two session of visit. The first session was participated by 33 participants which held on October 13-15th and the second session was conducted on October 16-18th, 2014.

This was the first time for operator fellow to visit port in Singapore. They were very excited to undergo the agenda. Upon their arrival at PSA (Port Authority of Singapore), they received a warm welcome from Mr. She Jianwei, PSA staff who accompanied the operator fellows while in PSA. Next, they were shown a short video presentation which tells about PSA company profile, the core business and its journey becoming a world class port. Mr. She Jianwei helped by our translator also gave some explanation about it, followed by question and answer session.

After that, the operator fellows were escorted to look around the port area along with Mr. Jianwei on board. Before and during the trip, Mr. She Jianwei explained the rules that taking pictures or documentation during the port visit was not allowed. Mr. Jianwei were enthusiastically accompanying the operators and told a lot of information about PSA, the port facilities, its capacity and so on. They had active conversations talking and questioning about PSA during this port visit.

At the end of the agenda, Mr. Ade Rahmawijaya as a Supervisor of the Terminal Business and the event coordinator handed souvenir and plaque as a symbolic appreciation fromIPC Banten to PSA which was represented by Mr. She Jianwei.

Through this field visit to PSA, our operator fellows had learned a lot about the work ethics and modernization of Singapore Port. They were expectedly to be able to apply it in IPC Banten work environment.
